Ingredients: 1/4 cup butter or margarine 1 garlic clove, minced or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1-2 teaspoons dried oregano 1 loaf (1 pound) French bread, halved lenghwise 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 teraspoon paprika
Directions: In a small saucepan melt butter; add garlic and oregano. Drizzle evenly over cut sides of bread. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika. Broil for 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted and golden brown. Slice and serve hot.

Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour 4 teaspoons baking powder 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon onion salt 1/2 teaspoon leaf oregano 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard 1 1/4 cups (5 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 egg well beaten 1 cup milk 1 tablespoon melted butter or margarine
Directions: Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, onion salt, oregano, mustard and cheese, set aside. Combine egg, milk and butter and add at once to dry ingredients, stirring until mixture is just moistened. Spread batter in a greased 8 1/2 X 4 1/2 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Ingredients: 3 cup flour 1/8th teaspoon baking soda Mix together, then add 1 cup almost hot milk 1 tsp. vinegar 2 tsp. oil 1 pkg. yeast 1 egg

Ingredients: 2 Tbsp. yeast 1 cup warm water 1 Tbsp. sugar 2 cups hot water 1/4 cup shortening 5 Tbsp. sugar 1-1/2 Tbsp. salt 1/4 cup instant mashed potato flakes 1 cup cold water 10-11 cups flour
Directions: Dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Let stand 10 minutes. In small bowl pour hot water over shortening. When melted add sugar, salt and potato flakes. Then add cold water and mix this mixture with yeast. Add flour. Knead and let rise 45 minutes. Punch down and let rise 45 minutes again. Shape in 4 loaves and let rise 1-1/2 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Ingredients: 2 cup sifted flour 1/2 cup sugar 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. pumpkin spice 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 melted butter/margarine 2 eggs 1/3 cup milk 1-1/2 cup coarsely chopped unpeeled apples
Directions: Sift first 5 ingredients into mixing bowl. Next on STIR speed of blender, stir shortening,eggs,milk and chopped apple for 10 seconds or until apple is finely chopped. Pour over dry ingredients; stir with a spoon just until dry ingredients are moistened. Fill greased muffin tins, bake in hot oven for about 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes + cooking time Number of Servings: 12
Ingredients: 1 cup cornmeal 1 cup flour 2 TBS sugar 2 TBS shortening 1 egg 1 small can cream style corn 1 can chili peppers or small jar jalapeno peppers 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated 1 medium onion, diced 1 lb. ground beef, fried & crumbled milk
Directions: In a large bowl, mix together all dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add egg, corn, and enough milk to make a thick, cake batter like consistency. Stir in peppers, onions, and ground beef. Pour 2/3 of the batter into a heavily greased 11x14" baking pan. Sprinkle cheese over the batter being careful not to touch the sides. Add a little more milk to the remaining batter. (This step is necessary to make sure that the batter spreads easily over the cheese.) Bake at 400 for about 30 minutes or til golden brown. Since this bread contains cream style corn, it will be slightly damp even when done, resembling a bread casserol

Ingredients: 6 bacon strips 1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced 1 large onion, chopped 2 celery ribs, chopped 2-3 garlic cloves, minced 1/2 cup butter or marg. 1 tsp. rubbed sage 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 28 cups day-old bread cubes (about 3 pounds sliced bread) 1 pound bulk sausage, cooked and drained 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
Directions: In a large skillet, cook bacon till crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain. Reserve 2 tbsp. drippings. Saute mushrooms,onion, celery and garlic in drippings and butter till tender. Stir in sage, salt & pepper. In large bowls, combine mushroom mixture, bread cubes, sausage, broth and bacon; toss to coat. Transfer to 2 greased 13X9 inch baking dishes.Cover and bake at 350deg. for 45mins. Uncover; bake 10-15 mins. longer or till lightly browned. OR: stuff turkey, then bake leftover in pan as directed above. OPTIONAL: you can also add 1 medium chopped apple. I find this gives a nice flavor and extra moistness.

Number of Servings: 3 loaves
Ingredients: 1 cup warm water 1/2 box raisins 1 large yeast cake or 1 packet 1 cup scalded milk (cooled) 8 cups flour 2 sticks melted margarine/butter 4 beaten egg yolks 1 tsp. salt 1/4 cup sugar 1 regular size can evaporated milk
Directions: Befor starting the dough put the raisins in 1 cup of warm water. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk, set aside. Sift flour into large pan; add evaporated milk, mixed with the one cup of warm water. Add melted margarine, mix; add beaten egg yolks, yeast mixture and salt. Mix add raisins, knead until smooth (about 10 minutes.) Let rise 2 hours. Roll out on floured board and make 3 loaves. Put into 3 small bread pans. Cover with towels, let rise 1 hour. Beat egg whites and brush tops of loaves. Bake ag 350 degrees for about 50 minutes.

Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup cornmeal 1 Tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 eggs 1/2 cup shortenng 1 cup milk, divided
Directions: Prheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, combine dry ingredients, add eggs, shortening and 1/2 of the milk, beat for 1 minute, add rest of milk, eat just til blended. Fill paper lined muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 -30 mintes or til muffis test done. Makes 1 dozen

Preparation Time: about 7 min. Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients: 1 (16 oz.) can Light red Kidney Beans, rinsed and drained. 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced. (Or use 2 green onions). 1/2 cup sliced celery 1/4 dup fat-free Ranch dressing (bottled Kind) 1/4 teas. dill weed. 1/4 teas. salt and pepper. 1 med. tomato - chopped. Shredded Parmesan cheese (Optional).
Directions: In a bowl, combine, onion, celery, ranch dressing, dill weed, salt and pepper; stir to combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
