The person will be responsible to:

. Manage Electrical work (as advised bythe Engineers)

The welding certifications required, are at least one of the following-
AS/NZS 2980 or EN 287 or ISO 9609.

Information required about the candidates.

1. What is their current welding certification?

2. Years of relevant welding experience in ship or shipbuilding or similar heavy steel works.

3. Ability and experience in overhead welding using MIG (flux core wire)?

4. Ability and experience in MMAW welding (Low Hydrogen)?


5. Have they had reasonable experience in welding in confined spaces eg ballast/fuel tanks?

6. What has their working at heights experience been?

7. Gas cutting skills and experience.

8. Fabrication skills and experience such as shell plate preparation and fitting. Not essential for welders but if they are multi-skilled they will be paid much more.

9. Any similar skills or experience such as pipe fitting?
